The company is listed in the Wuppertal Register of Companies (HRB 7619). By the terms of its Articles of Association the Institute solely and directly serves public-benefit purposes as defined in § 51 et seq. of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung). Its sole shareholder is the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
